In First Principles and Ordinances by Samuel M. Brown
"Marriage in our culture begins with the first thrills of infatuation and romantic love. This is a love that we feel, often so powerfully that it threatens to overwhelm our reason. Over time a healthy marriage relationship settles into mutual commitment and loyalty. This is a love that we CHOOSE, repeatedly, over the course of a relationship. Love deepens, supported by commitment and sacrifice. The memories of the early passion can help somewhat in the later stages, but the success of marriage does not depend on the persistence of the rapturous infatuation."
I really like this explanation comparing first feelings of love and first understandings of the gospel.
More to come.

A Fathers Advice
Saturday, February 14, 2015
The idea behind this blog is simple, a place where us friends and fathers can share our thoughts, experiences, and knowledge for our kids to have in the future. The breath of this
blog will range from random thoughts to deep introspections. From funny
stories, the heart wrenching tales of death and tragedy. Our hope is to be able
to document experiences both spiritual and physical that we will pass on to our posterity. In the hopes that they will learn from
these stories and become better women and men than we were. These will be stories
from imperfect men, we will have many errors (mostly grammar on my part) and
character flaws. So please sit back and read, if you wish, and
enjoy the ramblings of young men who think themselves wise beyond their years.
